Computer Science Volunteer

Volunteer to teach Python & Java at middle/high school CS clubs or at seasonal CS camps. Volunteering should not be a burden - just come when you can!

Requirements
  • 1+ years of Python /Java programming experience
  • Experience in teaching or a passion to teach
  • Minimum age of sixteen
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player
What we Expect from you?
  • Explain the fundamentals of programming languages in simple terms
  • Ability to solve Project Euler mathematics problems with Python or Java
  • Show up to club meetings and/or camps to help set up equipment and teach

Advocacy & Literacy Development Volunteer

Volunteer to teach problem solving, communication, teamwork and literacy skills at understaffed middle schools. Volunteering should not be a burden - just come when you can!

Requirements
  • Experience with speech & debate or leadership positions
  • Experience in teaching or a passion to teach
  • Minimum age of nineteen
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player
What we Expect from you?
  • Teach students how to read higher level fiction & non-fiction books
  • Teach students to analyze, infer, and think on their own
  • Inspire students to have heightened self-confidence
  • Teach students how to give speeches extemporaneously

Senior Citizens Alliance Volunteer

Volunteer to teach senior citizens how to use computers, mobile smartphones, tablets, email, online banking, YouTube, video calling, etc.

Requirements
  • Knowledge of how to use computers, mobile smartphones, and tablets
  • Experience in teaching or a passion to teach
  • Minimum age of sixteen
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player
What we Expect from you?
  • Teach senior citizens the computer basics and record the steps on paper for them
  • Provide tech support for senior citizens wishing to resolve specific problems

This project is being held at the Asian American Resource Center (8401 Cameron Rd, Austin, TX 78754).

Tutoring Volunteer

Volunteer to teach Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, U.S. History, World History, European History, Computer Science (Python, Java, C++, HTML), Essay Writing, or Speech & Debate.

Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience with the subject
  • Proof of proficiency with the subject
  • Experience in teaching or a passion to teach
  • Minimum age of sixteen
  • Good communication skills
  • Team player
What we Expect from you?
  • Teach students specific concepts within a subject in simple terms
  • Help students grasp concepts by providing and working out practice problems
  • Tutor in person or over video call
